About Us
SchaOn was born on August 14th, 1980 in Red Wing, MN at 1:27 AM. He grew up in Western Wisconsin, in Plum City, Ellsworth, and Eau Claire. As the oldest of 3 children, things were always a little interesting; a lot of responsibilities and pressures were put on him throughout his whole life.

He credits Gwen Swanson & Jeannie Follstad as the most influential people in his life. Gwen, SchaOn’s Godmother & Aunt, taught him many things, including how to cook. Jeannie was a guiding and stabilizing force in SchaOn’s life. Both of them helped turn him into the man he is today.

André was born on April 6th, 1979 in St Paul, MN at 9:37 PM. He grew up in the house his parents and younger brothers still live in today, in Mounds View. Being the 5th of 11 children, the crazy lives of the Thomas family sunk in, perhaps a bit too much.

Through ups and downs, and stupid decisions, André always had sources of support in his family. His mother Grace, father Jon, sister Barb, and brother Paul, were always there to scold, support, encourage, and love. Without them, who knows where he’d be today?

Before they met, SchaOn and André’s lives were the definition of chaos, and more than a little unbalanced. Moving from place to place, having difficulties holding down steady jobs, and financial issues were the norm; then came a cold, boring night in December. I know it’s a bit cliché, but they met online. Their first date, if you can call it that, was December 13th, 2004 and it’s never truly ended. In just 4 days, everything started to change.

SchaOn had an interview in Downtown Minneapolis and had no idea how to get there and André, being the “gentleman” he is, offered to help. Not only did SchaOn get hired, but so did André. They worked side by side as tech support and agents in a call center and soon became close friends with their boss, Joseph. As time progressed, so did their relationship; a fact that neither of them thought they were ready for. One night, SchaOn even said, “Don’t fall in love with me, I’ll just end up breaking your heart.” Well, he was right, but he was also there to help put it back together again. SchaOn and André’s ability to work together in balance soon transformed into a balance at home. Unfortunately, as with every relationship, there are struggles and arguments. One almost ended things before their first Valentine’s Day. Joseph saw the tension and took the two aside to help work things out. He even gave them carte blanche to take time as they needed to put things back together again.

As we all know, things change and the time came for SchaOn to move into a different career. Shortly thereafter, Joseph left the company and took André with him. Soon after, they rented their first condo together in Apple Valley. Things continued to progress positively and after only two and a half years, while SchaOn was managing Stonehenge (and getting bugged by Gwen about finally settling down), he came home and asked André if he would be his one and only life partner. After gushing tears of joy and disbelief, André squeaked out, “I’d love to.”

They have now both settled into career life and their new house in St Paul. SchaOn works as a consultant for DeCare Dental and is currently studying Esogetics, a form of holistic medicine developed in Germany. André works for Luther North Country Ford Lincoln Mercury as the Business Development and Customer Relations Manager. Even though things are always hectic, they still both find time for each other. Their lives have come together and have become even more stable because of it. While they were designing the invitations for the reception, they needed a quote that describes the life they’ve built together. SchaOn remembered a plaque he had seen hanging in a friend’s bathroom, but could only recall that it had something to do with 'one wing, angels, and flying together.' A few keystrokes and a visit to Google later, André was able to find the exact quote SchaOn had thought of:

“We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another.”
